The dimensions of the Samsung Galaxy S are 122.4x 64.2x 9.9 mm.  Its slimline profile combined with and light weight of 118 g makes the handset a pleasure to hold and use whilst remaining pocket friendly.

Users have the option to customise their phone thanks to the ability to utilise MP3 and WAV music files as ringtones.  As well as ringing, users are alerted to incoming calls and messages via vibration.  A handy speakerphone system is included along with a 3.5 mm audio Jack which accommodates both earphones for listening to music as well as a handsfree headsets. These allow convenient methods of handsfree communication on the move.

The depending on the model, either 8 GB or 16 GB of internal storage is provided alongside 512 MB RAM.  Whilst this offers plenty of storage which are sure to meet the needs of most users, an integrated micro SD card slot is also provided which can accommodate a memory card of up to 32 GB.  The Samsung Galaxy S also features the popular Photocall function which allows users to assign a photo to a particular contact within the phonebook, and this is in turn displayed on screen whenever that person is in contact.

Class 12 versions of both GPRS & EDGE provide the handset with its primary means of connecting to cellular networks and also the Internet in areas with little or no 3G coverage.  Where 3G coverage is available, access to the Internet is provided via an HSDPA connection at speeds of up to 7.2 mega bytes per second alongside HSUPA at 5.76 mega bytes per second had been. Wi-Fi Technology allows users to enjoy much faster Internet connection whenever it detects the signals provided by wireless Internet routers.

In order to take high quality still images, a 5 mega pixel digital camera is provided.  This operates at a high pixel resolution resulting in superb quality and clarity of images.  In order to simplify the task of taking quality photos, a number of image enhancing features are included such as Autofocus, face & smile detection and touch focus.  The camera also boasts the ability to shoot high definition video in 720p quality at a rate of 30 frames per second.
